Humble Bundle 8 just released

7 of the worlds best Indie games have just been released in a Humble Bundle!

The games are:

  • Awesomenauts from Ronimo Games
  • Capsized from Alientrap Games
  • Dear Esther from thechineseroom
  • Hotline Miami from Dennaton Games
  • Little Inferno from Tomorrow Corporation
  • Proteus by Ed Key and David Kanaga
  • Thomas Was Alone by Mike Bithell

What is Humble Bundle?

It is a packet of several indie games sold exclusively on humblebundle.com and you pay whatever you think it is worth for those games, whether it is 0.01$ or 10 000$. You also get to choose where the money goes. YOU set the rate of how much goes to the developers (all developers get an equal share of this amount), how much goes to charity and how much goes to Humble Bundle for keeping the website running. This is similar in concept to the Bitcoin Bundle we wrote about a while ago, but instead of Bit Coins you can choose your currency at Humble Bundle.

How do I get the games?

You go to their website, click Purchase and choose your amount, payment option and email. You’ll get a link, both in your browser window and in your mail, to where you can download your games. The offer is for a limited time (at the time of writing, it is up for another 14 days), but once purchased, the download links will stay up for as long as Humble Bundle keeps running. Don’t worry thou, it looks like Humble Bundle is here to stay, with its cross-platform, DRM-free games. Most games are also available on Steam and once bought through Humble Bundle they will be available for free download on Steam.

Update:

Humble Bundle 8 has added three more games, for a total of 10 games. If you have already purchased the bundle, these games are automatically added to your account. The games are:

  • Oil rush from Unigine Corp
  • Tiny & Big in Grandpa’s Leftovers from Black Pants Game Studio
    Intrusion 2 by Vapgames
English Country Tune by Increpare Games
